FAQ's

What are the advantages of vinyl over wood?
A wood fence system may initially cost less than vinyl, but wood systems require maintenance.  Conversely, vinyl fencing has almost zero maintenance cost, particularly compared to painted wood fences.  Unlike wood, vinyl isn't subject to weathering, which can increase the likelihood of costly partial or full replacement of a wood fence system.  Although your initial investment may be more with vinyl, the cost difference is quickly eliminated when you consider the substantial cost of maintaining a wood fence.

How safe are vinyl fence systems?
Unlike some treated wood fencing, vinyl is an environmentally safe material with no toxins to pollute the air or seep into the ground. Vinyl fencing has a smooth surface and there are no nails, sharp edges or splinters.

Will vinyl fencing break in cold weather?
It is normal for materials to expand and contract during temperature changes .   POLYVINYL FENCE SYSTEMS® has been engineered to accommodate normal temperature swings and changing climatic conditions.  As with most plastics, vinyl will become less flexible in colder weather conditions. POLYVINYL FENCE SYSTEMS® contain impact modifiers for cold weather, and unless subjected to unusual impact, will not break.

Will vinyl fencing turn yellow?
No!  POLYVINYL FENCE SYSTEMS® contain titanium dioxide for ultraviolet light resistance.   POLYVINYL® products are warranted for a lifetime against discoloration.

Why doesn't vinyl fencing come in dark colors?
Titanium dioxide is the main ultraviolet inhibitor and is a white pigment. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain a dark color while having this significant amount of white pigment. Dark colors also absorb heat and currently there is not a technology that dissipates this heat buildup.

How do you clean Vinyl?
Any household cleaner will remove light dirt.  Light pressure of a Brillo Pad will remove heavy dirt and what may seem like stains.

How does Vinyl fencing hold up to weed eaters?
Under normal use, the plastic string of weed eaters will not damage vinyl fencing.
